First observe of how many Notes compass the Tune is. Next, the place of your first Note; and how many Notes above & below that: so as you may begin the Tune of your first Note as the rest may be sung in the compass of your and the peoples voices, without Squeaking above, or Grumbling below.

Keystone Convention 2012, day one (Jan. 21, 2012)

Just briefly, really super singing: tight class, unexpectedly good room (it looked like too big a box but worked like a charm), lots of old friends, delicious lunch and a chance to congratulate our friend Ian on his fresh new tenure.

I enjoyed the chance to sing from the in-process Shenandoah Harmony but it was hard, at the end of the day, to get both brain and voice around the songs. “There’s a lot of Mis in those selections,” I said. Thanks, Dan, Bethany, and all.
